Whole Earth, Inc. was formed in 2005 for the purpose of bringing to the marketplace an intentional online community with a focus on products and services designed to support a thriving global ecological environment.

President: Howard Rubinstein

Mr. Rubinstein was a practicing attorney for over thirty years who devoted his professional career to consumer protection and class action litigation against corporations that were perpetrating fraud on the public. He has narrowed his focus over the last several years to an unyielding interest in addressing the environmental issues that are threatening the earth. Having researched consumer products for most of his career, Mr. Rubinstein is well versed in companies that are ethical and environmentally conscious.

Chief Operating Officer: Kim Barnes

Kim Barnes is an internet marketing executive with a track record of leveraging the power of the internet as a conduit of communication and connection. As an environmental activist, Kim Barnes is the founder and leader of "Friends of Lafayette Park”, Kim has created a coalition of over 260 citizens who clean and green in their own collective backyard each month for the past three years. Working with the public and the government Barnes has led the renewal of a major San Francisco park. She has raised funds for improved non-wasteful facilities and instituted a plan for local composting. Best all, Barnes has created an empowered community where there was none. Ms. Barnes also serves on the steering committee for the SF Neighborhood Parks Council. Between renewing Whole Earth Catalog and her own city, Kim Barnes truly thinks and acts both globally and locally.
